Taco Salad Recipe

Although you cannot have regular tacos on the keto diet, you can still enjoy this low-carb version, a taco salad.

At the same time, you can use ready-to-use flourless keto tacos if you want or simply enjoy the salad on its own. 

Ingredients: 

  • 4oz/115g ground beef or turkey
  • 2 tbsp chopped onion
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning
  • 1 tbsp broth or water
  • 1½ cups mixed greens or lettuce
  • ¼ avocado, chopped
  • 4–5 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup fresh tomato salsa
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro

Instructions:

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet and put in the beef and the onion. 
  2. Stir on medium heat till brown, around 5 minutes.
  3. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. Add broth or water and taco seasoning and cook briefly for 2 minutes so that the flavors blend. This keeps the beef moist.
  5. Line the bowl with the greens and put the beef on top.
  6. Arrange the avocado and cherry tomatoes on the beef.
  7. Top with salsa and sour cream.
  8. Garnish with cilantro, and you are good to go.
