Fried Tofu With Scallions Recipe

Tofu is an excellent source of protein, making it a good meat alternative. Plus, it's super easy to build flavor with. Try this fried tofu recipe and add a dash of scallions for a flavorful dish.

Ingredients: 

  • ¾ cup tofu, cubes 
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste 
  • 1 pinch garlic powder 
  • 1 tbsp tamari 
  • 1 tbsp fresh scallions, chopped

How to prepare:

  1. In a bowl, mix together tamari, water, salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside. 
  2. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add tofu cubes and cook for 1–2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. 
  3. Serve the fried tofu in a bowl and garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Drizzle with sauce, and enjoy! 
  4. Note: Feel free to adjust the seasoning to your taste or use your favorite spices instead
